bibimoney are London based, using our patented SIM-Skin technology, to provide secure, mobile payment wallet services, working on any phone, any mobile network. Without the need for data, we enable our partners to create Financial Inclusion in high growth, large population, developing countries, by delivering an interoperable, mobile money solution.

How did the idea for the business originate?
On Shiraz’s frequent visits to family in Tanzania, he saw the growth and scale of mobile money, but also the opportunity to resolve the limitations of available solutions; the lack of interoperability and/or the need for access to data. bibimoney’s SIM-Skin technology payments solution was born.

Do you have customers yet? If not, how far into your business lifecycle are you?
Yes; We have financial partners; usually banks or Post offices. With them, we have now launched in Malawi and Botswana with other countries soon to follow. Users have just started to transact, and the rollout phase has just begun.

How have you funded your growth to date?
Jessa family money and a small number of outside shareholders.

What would a successful 2018 look like for you?
Having just launched in Botswana and Malawi, we expect to see user momentum build and some early indications of the viral growth taking off. We also expect to sign several new partners for some significant new markets before the year end.

Outside of your own business, which start up do you admire the most and why? 
Off Grid Electric: Bringing affordable power to rural people in Africa will truly enrich their lives by driving economic growth within the regions and reducing poverty.
