Leon serves as the Managing Director of Quantitative Equity at BCI within the Public Markets department, having joined the company in 2017. With over 13 years of experience in the investment field, he assumes responsibility for managing internal quantitative active equity strategies focused on global developed market mandates. Leon has expertise in systematic investing and the application of mathematics and machine intelligence in finance. Before his role at BCI, Leon held a position at Genus Capital Management, a Vancouver-based investment management firm. There, he specialized in quantitative research for stock selection and portfolio construction, while managing portfolios for both institutional and high net-worth clients. Leon also gained valuable experience at the Bank of Canada in Ottawa, where he contributed to the enhancement of economic forecasting models. Leon earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Economics and a Master of Science in Finance from the University of British Columbia (UBC). He holds the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter and has achieved the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation.
