Quantum computers are shown to be operational if we can successfully apply quantum error correction, QEC. However, it is well known that QEC, by forming a quantum memory, is not enough, and logical gates need to be implemented. In the family of required logical operations, magic operations play an important role. Magic operations are the most resource-intensive operations and the ones are responsible for quantum advantage.
