Asteris Apostolidis

Asteris is currently appointed as a Lead for Technical Innovation at the KLM BlueLabs, where he works towards the introduction and scaling-up of both emerging and established technologies in different divisions of the company, including Quantum Computing. He has worked for airlines, academic institutes, and aircraft manufacturers, having dealt with the technical and strategic problematics of aircraft systems and airline processes. Asteris is an expert in engineering simulation, and he specializes in trustworthy AI and Data Exchange for safety-critical applications. He is a founding member of the Rulemaking Committee on Trustworthy AI in Aviation of EASA, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. He has served in several institutional, industrial, and academic working groups, as a technical expert for the European Commission, and as an Advisory Board member for Horizon Europe and national research projects. He holds a PhD in Computational Aerothermodynamics from Cranfield University (UK).
