Christopher Chunnilall

Principal Scientist, Quantum Group National Physical Laboratory

Christopher was born in Guyana, received his BSc from Durham University and his PhD from King's College London (KCL), and joined NPL in 1995 after a period as a Research Fellow at KCL. While at NPL, he has worked with organisations such as ESA and MSSL, and led NPL participation in Key Comparisons of spectral transmittance and diffuse reflectance. His current research addresses the measurement needs for quantum optical technologies, such as quantum key distribution, and the application of single and entangled photons to metrology. He is a member of the CCPR Few Photon Strategy Group and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) Industry Specification Group on QKD.
