David Wade is CEO of EPB of Chattanooga, which gained national recognition for launching America's first community-wide gig-speed internet service in 2010 while leveraging its 100% fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network to deploy one of the nation's most advanced and highly automated power grid distribution systems. Having played a key leadership role in designing and building this cutting-edge infrastructure, Wade continued to advance EPB's customer-centered innovation strategy after becoming CEO in 2016, including making the nation's first ubiquitous 25 Gig internet service available across the Chattanooga area. He also led the establishment of EPB Quantum CenterSM, the only U.S. quantum hub offering both commercially available quantum networking and quantum computing within a single facility. The effort is focused on bringing quantum research into the real-world by providing comprehensive resources for developing and commercializing quantum innovations in networking, computing, sensing and beyond. In addition to support national priorities in security and competitiveness, EPB Quantum is positioning Chattanooga as a leading economic hub for the rapidly emerging quantum industry.
