Scott Crowder

Dr. Scott Crowder is currently Vice President, IBM Quantum Adoption where he is responsible for the adoption and commercialization of quantum computing. Scott began his career as the lead engineer on the industry's first logic-based embedded DRAM technology before becoming the executive responsible for the establishment and execution of the global semiconductor development alliances with industry leaders such as Samsung and Global Foundries. He then served as Vice President of Technical Strategy for IBM, defining the cross-IBM technical strategy for IT infrastructure, analytics and cloud services. Prior to his current role, Scott served as the Chief Technical Officer for IBM Systems and in that mission initiated the IBM Quantum commercial program that has grown to have the largest ecosystem of developers and institutions from industry and academia that are driving the adoption and advancement of quantum computing. He has testified to committees of the US House of Representatives on multiple occasions on quantum computing technology and policy implications. Scott received A.B./Sc.B. degrees in Electrical Engineering and International Relations from Brown University and a M.A. in Economics and M.Sc./Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

DAY 1 THURSDAY JUNE 25TH

9:30 AM Quantum Computing and Quantum-Safe Security: Scaling Innovation and Securing the Future of Enterprise Computing

The next era of enterprise computing will be shaped by two powerful quantum realities: the opportunity to solve previously intractable problems with quantum computing, and the responsibility to protect today's digital systems from future quantum-enabled cryptographic threats.

Quantum computing introduces a new paradigm for representing and processing information, creating new possibilities in molecular simulation, materials discovery, financial modeling, optimization, logistics, and fundamental science. At the same time, advances in quantum computing are accelerating the need for quantum-safe security, crypto-agility, and post-quantum cryptography readiness across enterprise and government systems.
In this keynote, IBM will explore how quantum-centric supercomputing brings quantum processors together with high-performance computing, advanced algorithms, and enterprise workflows to create a foundation for future innovation. The session will also examine how organizations can begin building quantum-safe capabilities today through cryptographic discovery, risk assessment, migration planning, and governance.
Attendees will gain a practical perspective on how to prepare for useful quantum computing while strengthening digital trust, resilience, and security in the quantum era. The message is clear: the future is not only about scaling quantum advantage, but also about securing the systems, data, and infrastructure that enterprises depend on.
