Among all of the hype and excitement around quantum computing and the attendant cybersecurity risks embodied in Shor's algorithm, there is continuing discussion around when the right time is to act. Drivers range from: fear of regulation; peer pressure; fear of harvest-now, decrypt-later; to improved cyber hygiene. As rumors of an available cryptographically-relevant quantum computer continue, there will likely be a tipping point at which the drivers start to compel action. This presentation will discuss how these drivers are coming together across various industry sectors.
