United States Chief Technology Officer and Associate Director White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
Dr. Ethan Klein was confirmed by the Senate as the fifth United States Chief Technology Officer and an Associate Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. In these roles, he works to advance American leadership across critical technologies, including AI, quantum, nuclear energy, and biotechnology. In the first Trump Administration, he led the emerging technologies portfolio at OSTP. Dr. Klein holds a Ph.D. and S.B. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Stanford.
