Presidential Award-Winning OB-GYN and Bioethics Leader Joins Women’s HealthX
Boston, MA -- September 17 2026: Women's HealthX is pleased to announce that Dr. Kavita Shah Arora, Professor and Division Director for General Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Midwifery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has officially joined the speaker faculty for this year's summit at Encore Boston Harbor.
As women's healthcare leaders work to improve care across every stage of life, collaboration between clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders remains essential.
Dr. Arora brings extensive experience spanning clinical leadership, research, health policy, and bioethics. She currently serves on the national Board of Directors for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association's Council on Science and Public Health.
Her previous leadership roles include serving as Chair of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' national ethics committee, participating in the American Medical Association's national ethics committee, and serving on the Board of Directors of the American Society for Bioethics and the Humanities.
"I'm looking forward to Women's HealthX for the opportunity to collaborate across sectors and reimagine women's health—from contraception and conception through pregnancy, menopause, and beyond"
Dr. Kavita Shah Arora
With more than 150 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Arora's research has received funding from the National Institutes of Health, Health Resources and Services Administration, Greenwall Foundation, and Society of Family Planning.
She was also named a 40 Under 40 Leader in Minority Health by the National Minority Quality Forum and received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers from President Biden.
Her participation reflects the cross-sector approach at the heart of Women's HealthX: bringing together clinical, academic, policy, and industry leaders to examine how women's healthcare can be strengthened throughout the life course.
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Kavita Shah Arora to the Women's HealthX faculty and look forward to hearing her perspective in Boston this December.
