Beverly Buckta

Director, Digital, EHR & Interoperability Lead, Pfizer

Beverly Buckta leads Interoperability and Informatics within the Medical Evidence Development team at Pfizer's Global Chief Medical Office. An active HL7 contributor across multiple FHIR accelerators (notably Vulcan), she drives semantic architecture, data reuse, and health IT strategy across therapeutic areas. Since joining Pfizer as Director of Information Architecture Services, Dr. Buckta has spearheaded the Health IT program and served as a strategy and innovation lead within the Real World Evidence Center of Excellence. Previously, she was Global Principal Information Architecture Lead at AstraZeneca and directed knowledge management initiatives across R&D and operations at Bristol-Myers Squibb, following an early career in cytogenetic research at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Medical School. Dr. Buckta holds a B.S. in Biochemistry, M.S. in Information & Computer Science, and Sc.D. Doctorate of Science. She has taught graduate-level biomedical informatics, health IT, and information architecture at Drexel University's College of Computing and Informatics and was instrumental in establishing Keller Graduate School's Health Services Systems program.
