Dr. Gayatri Setia is a board-certified cardiologist and vascular medicine specialist, and Co-Director of the Women’s Cardiovascular Institute at NYC Health & Hospitals | Elmhurst, where she also serves as Director of Preventive Cardiology. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Setia co-founded the first Women’s Cardiovascular Institute within the NYC Health + Hospitals system, advancing an equity-driven model of care for women across the lifespan. Her work integrates cardiology with obstetrics/gynecology, oncology, genetics, and social work to address unique cardiovascular risks, particularly for those with adverse pregnancy outcomes and breast cancer. She has led initiatives to expand access to preventive therapies and streamline heart failure transitions within safety-net clinics. A nationally published physician with expertise in cardio-obstetrics and vascular disease, Dr. Setia is committed to reimagining care through innovation and community partnership, focusing on closing gender and access gaps while mentoring the next generation of medical leaders.
