Dr. Kavita Shah Arora is a Professor and the Division Director for General Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Midwifery at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. She currently serves on the national board of directors for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Council on Science and Public Health for the American Medical Association. She has served as the Greenwall Fellow in Bioethics for the National Academy of Medicine, Chair of the national ethics committee of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, on the national ethics committee of the American Medical Association, on the Board of Directors of the American Society for Bioethics and the Humanities, and on the Governing Council for the Young Physicians Section of the American Medical Association. She has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and has been funded by the NIH, HRSA, Greenwall Foundation, and Society for Family Planning. She was named a 40 under 40 leader in minority health by the National Minority Quality Forum and was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers by President Biden.
