Kutluk Oktay, MD, PhD, is a Professor of OB/GYN and Reproductive Sciences and Director of the Innovation Institute of Fertility Preservation & IVF in New York. A clinician-scientist and fertility specialist, he is considered one of the pioneers of fertility preservation and ovarian biology. He performed the world's first ovarian transplantation using cryopreserved tissue and pioneered widely adopted fertility preservation protocols for women and children facing cancer and other complex fertility conditions. His research helped uncover key mechanisms of chemotherapy-induced ovarian damage, DNA repair pathways in ovarian aging, and the link between BRCA mutations and accelerated ovarian aging. His current work focuses on redefining reproductive aging through ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation, in vitro follicle growth (IVG), and ovarian longevity therapeutics aimed at delaying menopause and extending ovarian function. Dr. Oktay has published over 200 scientific manuscripts and authored over 40 books and book chapters. He has served in leadership roles for major national and international fertility preservation initiatives, including the ASCO fertility preservation guidelines, and was named among Stanford University's Top 2% Scientists worldwide.
