Dr. Lauren Powell is Head of Health Equity in Drug Development at Biogen, where she leads efforts to embed health equity across the drug development process. A recognized health equity executive and strategist, she previously served as the inaugural Vice President of U.S. Health Equity & Community Wellness at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where she built landmark partnerships and developed the company's first enterprise-wide health equity strategy and roadmap. Dr. Powell is widely recognized for her leadership and impact across the healthcare sector. In 2025, she received the MM+M Women of Distinction award and was named to Fierce Pharma's Fierce 50 list. She was also recognized among Fortune's 40 Under 40 in Healthcare. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Xavier University of Louisiana, a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a Ph.D. in Clinical and Population Health Research from the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
