Yaso Therapeutics is an early-stage company starting its First in Human clinical trial funded by NIH-NICHD under the Fast Track grant 44HD118927. We have secured a total of $10 million in NIH grants to fund development from benchtop to a Phase 1 clinical trial. The company was co-founded by three professionals with extensive senior management, commercial and scientific experience. They have previous experience in women's personal care and OTC drug and device development.
We hold the worldwide license from the University of Illinois for a novel drug we call PPCM. PPCM is a carboxylated polyanion with promising activity against sperm, gonorrhea and several viruses including HSV, HIV, Sars Co-V 2, and Ebola virus. Our most advanced drug product, and the one being tested in our Phase 1 clinical trial, is a vaginal gel for the purpose of contraception. In addition to confirming safety of an inexpensive, non-hormonal contraceptive, our current clinical trial will give us data that will help us develop anti-infective drug products under 505(b)(2) that could potentially be used to combat herpes simplex and gonorrhea.
