Dr. Suneela Vegunta, MD, FACP,DABOM is a board-certified internist with extensive experience in women's health. She completed her residency at The Ohio State University and subsequently served as a faculty member there. Dr. Vegunta furthered her career at the University of Kansas Medical Center and the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. In Peoria, she held positions as Medical Director for a federally qualified health center and Associate Chief of Staff for community outpatient clinics. For the past 15 years, Dr. Vegunta has been with the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, where she holds the rank of Associate Professor. She serves as the Assistant Director for Preclinical Clerkship at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Arizona and is the Program Director for the Women's Health Fellowship. A diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, Dr. Vegunta has authored over 58 manuscripts on women's health topics and speaks routinely on these topics at different venues. She regularly teaches medical students across all years, as well as residents and fellows in training
