Chief Science Officer Daré Bioscience
Dr. Friend is Chief Scientific Officer at Daré Bioscience. He joined Daré in June 2018. He is responsible for development, including clinical evaluation, of various products for female health. These products include treatments for hormone therapy, prevention of preterm birth, treatment of the symptoms of vulvovaginal atrophy, hormonal and nonhormonal contraceptives. Daré has one recently FDA-approved product XACIATO™, a single dose clindamycin phosphate vaginal gel for treatment of bacterial vaginosis. He was previously the Chief Scientific Officer at Evofem located in San Diego, CA from 2015 to 2018. He was Director, Product Development and Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the CONRAD Program of Eastern Virginia Medical School from 2007 to 2015.
