Paula Soteropoulos has served as CEO, chairman and board director, founding and leading companies bringing transformative treatments to patients worldwide, including Akcea Therapeutics which she led through its IPO and two product commercial launches. Currently, she is Chairman of the board of Ensoma, which she led at its founding through Series A, as well as on the board of both private and public companies including Metri Bio focused on women's health and endometriosis. Prior, she was a Venture Partner at 5AM Ventures focused on new company creation and building. Paula is deeply committed to addressing the longstanding gaps in research and innovation for women's health conditions. She mentors and advises first time CEOs of emerging companies as well as women's health companies, championing investment, advocacy, and solutions that bring greater equity and impact to healthcare. Paula earned an executive management certificate from the University of Virginia – Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Tufts University. She is the co-author of the book, Restoring Balance: An Integrative Approach to Women's Health Through Nutrition, Lifestyle and Systems Biology.
