Senior Director Early Detection American Cancer Society
Sarah Temkin

Dr. Sarah Temkin is a champion for advancing women's health. A gynecologic oncologist, she has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for all patients with cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancers while expanding access to high-quality screening and preventive services. Her work integrates cancer prevention with broader chronic disease prevention, recognizing shared risk factors across conditions such as cardiovascular disease, obesity, and cancer, and the importance of upstream, life-course approaches to women's health. In her role at the American Cancer Society, Dr. Temkin focuses on accelerating strategies that address the unique biological, behavioral, and structural factors shaping women's cancer journeys. Prior to joining the American Cancer Society, she served as Associate Director for Clinical Research at the NIH Office of Research on Women's Health, where she led efforts to develop and disseminate research priorities, including advancing the study of sex-specific factors influencing chronic disease and multimorbidity among women.
